GMAT

What is it:
Like Toefl which is required to be given by a student as a proof of his/her command over the English language, GMAT needs to be given by a student so that various B-Schools across the globe(which accept GMAT score) can measure the abilities of the applicants for advanced study in Business And Management i.e. universities use the GMAT score as one of the criteria for selecting a candidate into a MBA program under their university. This exam can be given at various test centres located across the country(Find a test centre near your place).

The exam is of 800 marks(max), but the average score as seen obtained in GMAT exam is around 500.


Syllabus:
Analytical Writing(1 and 2) for which 30 minutes are given(to each 1 and 2) , Maths Section for which 75 minutes are given to solve 37 MCQ's and English Section(sentence correction, criticalreasoning, and reading comprehension) for which 75 minutes are given to solve 41 MCQ's. A short break however is given between each section.


How Long Is the GMAT Score Valid:
The score is valid for 5 years. However, if one fails to get a decent score the first time, he/she can give it again but the past scores of 5 years will also be included in the latest scorecard.


How Much Does It Costs:
As of now, the fee for giving GMAT exam is U.S $250.
