AIPMT

Introduction:
The All India Pre Medical Test is held once a year for admission into the various medical colleges across the country. Overall, there are about 1900 and 250 seats in MBBS and BDS respectively . The test is done in two phases. The first phase is a preliminary test which is usually held in the first week of April and then applicants who qualify in the preliminary test appear for mains held in the early half of May.

Previously, the preliminary round was objective and the mains used to be subjective. But, from 2010 onwards, the mains paper will also be completely subjective.


Eligibility:
A candidate should be at least 17 years of age and must have passed his senior secondary with at least 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. For SC, ST and OBC the required marks in the aggregate of PCB is 40% instead of 50%. A candidate age should not exceed 25(for SC, ST and OBC, the age is relaxed to 30).


Number of attempts:
The maximum times a candidate can appear in AIPMT exam is 3 for all candidates.
